ABOUT TCRI

Teach Climate and Redefine It (TCRI) is a completely youth-led non-profit organization based in Sonoma County.

OUR FOUNDER/ CURRENT LEADER

Noa Polston Schwartz

Hi! I'm Noa Polston Schwartz (She/Her), and I created Teach Climate & Redefine It out of the all-too-common feeling of helplessness and doom brought on by climate anxiety. I've found that taking action is the best (and only way!) to go. I started this journey as TCRI's founder at the beginning of my 8th grade year, and now... 4 years later, I'm still running it as a senior in high school. Next year, our awesome junior and sophomore members are taking over the show, as I leave for college.

TCRI has been an incredible community effort. From the teen educators who spend their after-school hours every week organizing and creating to the teachers who have generously handed us their sacred class time, to all of our funders and supporters, including the lovely Sebastopol librarians who host our meeting space. But the best gift of all, are the elementary and middle school students, whose hands shoot up during our presentations full of ideas and questions. I am so grateful, and cannot wait to see what the next generation of TCRI brings to our community, and for what the next generation of climate activists brings to our world.

Our vision is a world in which every kid and teen has the education and resources to become agents of change. Our climate is changing at a rapid pace, and

we cannot "leave it to someone else."
